Renowned for bringing world-class acts to the east of England, Norfolk & Norwich Festival had something special this year for those with a taste for the cutting-edge. The festival sniffed out the best of the extraordinary, the avant-garde and the remarkable. Maceo Parker and his funk orchestra taught the sold-out crowd at Norwich Theatre Royal exactly who owned the funk! The award-winning NoFit State Circus and their impressive 16 performance run of ‘Tabu’ became the theatre event of the Festival and enjoyed a massive 3000 strong audience during the Festival, “NoFit's latest spectacle is like dropping in on a wild party thrown by strangers, and emerging two hours later having begun to establish a peculiar but intoxicating kinship with your hosts.” 4 stars, The Times. Laurie Anderson’s glorious steely political commentary and warm heart made her performance of ‘Homeland’ a show-stopper. Cuban pianist Roberto Fonseca wowed the audience with a fantastic sold-out performance at Norwich Playhouse. Finally, 1000 people witnessed Michael Clark's Stravinsky Project and its union of classicism and modernism with Stravinsky’s music and Clark’s choreography. For most of all NNF 2008 events an allocation of at least 5% of tickets was made available in the best seats which very nearly sold out! Look out for this fantastic offer at next year’s NNF.
